Welcome to Pets & Vets — a mobile application built in Flutter for pet owners and veterinary professionals in Pakistan. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use the app.
By registering and using Pets & Vets, you agree to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the application.
Account & Personal Information
- Full name, email address, and phone number
- Username and profile photograph
- Authentication ID (managed by Supabase Auth)
- User role: pet owner, veterinary doctor, or admin
- Password — stored in encrypted form by Supabase; never stored in plaintext
Pet Health Data
- Pet name, species, breed, gender, and age
- Weight, height, and health status notes
- Next scheduled checkup date and emoji/image identifier
- Pet profile photos stored in Supabase cloud storage
Appointment Data
- Selected doctor, clinic, appointment date and time
- Appointment type, status, and price
- Payment method, payment status, and payment screenshot uploaded by user
- Associated pet and owner relationship metadata
Community & Communication Data
- Posts, comments, likes, and moderation flags created in the community forum
- Private chat messages between users (Supabase Realtime)
- Notification records and read/unread state
Veterinary Doctor Data
- Professional qualifications and credential documents uploaded for admin verification
- Specialization, clinic location, and availability schedule
Technical & Usage Data
- Device connectivity state used for online/offline detection
- Local notification scheduling data stored only on your device
- Cached app data in local SQLite (Drift) for offline experience
We use the information we collect solely to provide and improve the Pets & Vets experience:
- Creating and managing your user account and verifying your identity
- Registering and displaying your pet profiles and health records
- Connecting pet owners with verified veterinary doctors and enabling appointment booking
- Sending push notifications and local reminders for appointments, medications, and vaccinations
- Enabling community forum participation including posts, comments, and likes
- Facilitating private chat messages between users
- Providing AI-powered pet care guidance via the Groq AI service (internet required)
- Verifying and approving doctor credentials through admin review
- Moderating community content to remove inappropriate posts
- Improving app performance, stability, and user experience
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We rely on the following service providers to operate the app:
Authentication, Postgres database, realtime sync, and file storage for all user and pet data. Stored on Supabase cloud servers.
AI assistant for pet care guidance. Your questions are transmitted to Groq's API over HTTPS. Internet required. Responses are not medical advice.
We may disclose information when required by Pakistani law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users. No other third-party sharing occurs.
- Supabase cloud servers: All account, pet, appointment, community, and chat data
- Supabase storage buckets: Profile photos, pet images, and payment screenshots
- On-device SQLite (Drift): Cached notifications and offline app state — stays on your device only
- App assets (offline): Emergency pet first-aid guide — no network required
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Weekly database backups are maintained to ensure data recovery. You may request full account and data deletion by contacting our support team.
Pets & Vets requests the following Android device permissions:
- Internet access: Required for appointment booking, community forum, AI assistant, and data syncing
- Network state access: Detects online/offline connectivity to adjust app behavior
- Post notifications: Delivers appointment reminders, medication alerts, and community updates
- Vibrate: Used for notification vibration alerts
- Camera & media/gallery (runtime, optional): Requested only when uploading a profile photo, pet image, or payment screenshot
Pets & Vets is not designed for or directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data without parental consent, please contact us immediately so we can remove it.
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: View the personal data we hold about you
- Update: Edit your profile, pet information, and account settings directly within the app
- Delete: Request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting our support team
- Portability: Request a copy of your data in a readable format
- Withdraw consent: Stop using the app at any time; your data is retained until you request deletion

- All data transmitted between the app and Supabase uses HTTPS encryption
- Authentication handled by Supabase Auth — passwords are never stored in plaintext
- Supabase Row Level Security (RLS) ensures users can only access their own data
- Sensitive actions (booking, posting, editing profiles) require an active authenticated session
- Doctor accounts require admin verification and approval before appearing publicly in the directory
- Weekly database backups provide recovery capability in the event of data loss
By downloading, installing, or using the Pets & Vets mobile application, you ("User") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Pets & Vets.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not access or use the application. Continued use after any modification to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account
- You must provide accurate and truthful information during registration
- One person may not maintain multiple accounts for deceptive purposes
Account Responsibilities
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
- Pets & Vets reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
Account Types
Register pets, book appointments, set medication reminders, join the community forum, and access emergency guides.
Maintain a professional profile, manage availability, and receive appointment requests after admin credential verification.
You agree to use Pets & Vets only for lawful purposes related to pet health management, veterinary appointments, and community interaction. The following is strictly prohibited:
- Posting false, misleading, or harmful information about pet health or medical advice
- Impersonating another user, veterinary doctor, or Pets & Vets staff
- Uploading fake or fraudulent doctor credentials
- Using the app to harass, bully, or threaten other users
- Posting spam, unsolicited promotional content, or unrelated commercial advertisements
- Attempting to access other users' accounts, data, or private information without permission
- Engaging in any activity that disrupts or damages the app's infrastructure or services
- Using the AI assistant to generate or spread harmful, unethical, or illegal content
Only verified veterinary professionals may maintain public doctor profiles on Pets & Vets:
- Doctors must upload genuine, valid professional credentials for admin review and approval
- Profiles are publicly listed only after admin verification is complete
- Doctors are responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date availability schedules
- Pets & Vets collects a commission on every appointment booked through the platform
- Doctors must not provide guaranteed diagnoses or present the platform as a replacement for in-person examinations
- Submission of fraudulent credentials will result in permanent account removal and may be reported to relevant authorities
By submitting content to the community forum or chat, you agree to the following:
- You retain ownership of content you post, but grant Pets & Vets a license to display and moderate it within the app
- You must not post content that is offensive, abusive, discriminatory, or in violation of Pakistani law
- Admins have the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or community standards
- Community forum content is visible to all registered users
- Visitor profile views only display public information (posts and pet profiles); private settings remain hidden
- Users can navigate to other users' profiles from posts or comments; visitors cannot access edit or account settings controls
The current version of Pets & Vets uses a manual payment verification process:
- Appointment fees are displayed before booking confirmation
- Users upload a payment screenshot to confirm payment; no live payment gateway is currently integrated
- Pets & Vets collects a commission from each appointment booked through the platform
- Refunds and dispute resolution are handled on a case-by-case basis through our support team
- Users must not submit fraudulent payment screenshots or attempt to bypass payment requirements
- The emergency guide provides general first-aid guidance only — it does not replace in-person veterinary care
- The AI assistant explicitly reminds users that its responses are not professional veterinary advice
- Pets & Vets is not liable for any harm resulting from reliance on app content without proper veterinary consultation
- We target 99% uptime; however, service disruptions may occur due to maintenance or third-party outages (e.g., Supabase downtime)
- Pets & Vets is not responsible for the accuracy of content posted by users in the community forum
Either party may end the relationship at any time:
- By you: Stop using the app at any time. Contact us to request full account and data deletion
- By Pets & Vets: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, post harmful content, submit fraudulent information, or engage in prohibited conduct
- Upon termination, access to the app and its features will be revoked. Data deletion requests will be processed within a reasonable timeframe
Pets & Vets reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. When we do:
- We will update the effective date at the top of this document
- Significant changes may be communicated via in-app notification
- Continued use of the app after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Pakistan. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Pakistani courts.
The app supports both English and Urdu to ensure accessibility for all users across Pakistan.
